Head Coach || Scot MacAllister

Scot MacAllister was named the eighth head coach in LETU women's basketball history June 1, 2022.

"As we conducted a national search for the position, Scot's name rose quickly to the top," Sceggel said. "As a longtime coach, he has a heart for discipleship, and proved his ability to win as an assistant at an elite Division III, and as a colligate head coach. Consequently, we are thrilled to launch a new era of women's basketball under his leadership."

Prior to joining the YellowJackets, MacAllister served as the women's head coach at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, located in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., leading the Pomeroys to the USCAA National Championship.  He mentored and coached two players to the 2021-2022 USCAA National Championship All-Tournament Team, two All-American selections, with one earning the honor of having her jersey chosen to hang in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Ring of honor during the 2022-23 campaign.

"My wife, Lori, and I are extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to join LeTourneau University and the athletic department in discipling young people for Christ," MacAllister said. "The chance to be a part of a reboot with the woman's basketball program, while challenging, stokes the competitive fire. There's joy to be found in the work so let us lace 'em up and get after it! After our campus visit and my meetings with President Mason and Dr. Sceggel I texted my wife, "I want to work here! These people love Jesus!"

MacAllister joined the Pomeroys after serving as the assistant coach for Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, from 2014-20. He and coached 17 All-Conference award winners, 26 All-Academic Honor Roll recipients and two 1,000-point scorers. His high school coaching career spans two decades, including head girls coach at Russell County High School in Kentucky, from 2013-14. During his time at Logan County High School in Kentucky (2005-13), MacAllister led the Kentucky Blast ninth and 10th grade AAU teams from 2010-13.

MacAllister earned the National Federation of High School Spirit of Sport and Kentucky High School Athletic Association Spirit of Sport Award in 2013. These awards honor the pride, spirit and selflessness of programs found within the community, district and high school.
His coaching experience began in California at Kings River Community College from 1991-93, before his first of two stints at Corcoran High School from 1994-98. After the 1998-99 campaign at Dinuba High School, he returned to Corcoran from 1999-03. Over his illustrious career on the West Coast, MacAllister collected 11 California State Sweet Sixteen appearances, nine league championships, two elite eight appearances and one final four finish. He also earned league coach of the year, two Valley All-Stars honors as an assistant coach and once as head coach.

MacAllister earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership & Supervision and Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from California State University. He enjoys watching college football and spending time with his wife Lori, their three children and spouses and five grandchildren.
